My questions is what size of max memory and hdd could be installed in a A1181 white Macbook with 2.16Ghz (4MB L2 cache CPU) and GMA950 VGA?
It is a 2007 model.
Currently i have 2x1GB DDR2 667Mhz and 160GB Samsung SATA hdd.

I appreciate every answer! Thanks in advance!

Currently, the largest HDD would be a 640GB. The larger ones (750GB & 1TB) are too tall to fit in that MacBook. The 9.5mm drives fit, the 12.5mm ones do not. -GDF

Thanks for the quick answers. 🙂
Is that sure i can install a 500GB WD HDD into my Macbook? It is a 2007 model, i know the new Macbook White can handle a 500GB.

Yes, that drive will work. Use Disk Utility to Format it as Mac Extended (Journaled) with a GUID Partition Table.

Any drive of the correct physical specifications will work fine, you will just have to format it to OS X Journaled (Extended) using disk utility on the OS X install disc.

In addition to this, as GfulDedFan said, you'll also need to setup the drive as GUID boot partition if you're on an Intel machine.

I've got a friend who put a scorpio black in his 2007 macbook, and he's quite happy with the extra storage and the speed of the new drive.
