Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me for sure what version of OSX a macbook purchased in January 2008 would have shipped with?

Leopard. The Feb 2008 MacBooks shipped with 10.5.2

No problems. For future reference, MacTracker is an extremely valuable resource.

+1. And there's a free iPhone/iTouch app that accompanies it now, 100% reliable data on the go. I often refer to it whenever I'm helping out the tech guy at uni. Poor guy. They installed rooms of new Macs and he was trained in the late 90's how to maintain PCs.
