Thinking about installing Half Life 2 on my 13" MBP. Will it run the game?

I was thinking about installing HL2 on my unibody 13" MBP but I'm starting to wonder if the integrated graphics will be able to handle it.

I have the 2.53GHz processor w/ 4GB of memory but I'm not too sure about the graphics part.

any opinions?

Are you sure it's not Half Life 2? Even the GMA X3100 managed to run that well enough.

smoothly or will it barely run it as some ridiculously small resolution size?

Normally. I run GTA San Andreas smoothly on High using the 9400M

Of course it will! HL2 is from like, 2003. The sys req are 1.2 GHz, 256 MB ram, and a DX6 compatible card...

I don't know if I just failed at getting the proper drivers or something, but I couldn't even run Half Life 1 based games (CS, TFC)smoothly on bootcamp. I've run the mac OS version of call of duty 4, which runs... ok. Given that it runs CoD 4 alright I'm positive it has the ability to run HL or HL2 fine I just never really got it to jibe with windows. Maybe I should have updated opengl? either way I don't have windows on anymore to tweak it. I really can't think of any use for windows to me other than games, which I usually play on my xbox.

It will be just fine. I'm running HL2, CS:Source and San andreas smoothly on my low end 13" MBP

idk what your prob might have been, but I can assure you it'll work. I just finished HL2E2 on bootcamp

I only played around with Half Life 2: The Lost Coast and I could pretty much max everything out sans AA and run it super smooth. I'm pretty impressed with the 9400m.
