external dvd burners for the mac

i have been thinking of purchasing a internal 5.25 dvd burner and get an external enclosure to use for buring dvd's at a higher rate and also ripping cds at a higher rate. could anyone recommend me a direction to go in?

Thats what i did, i did not get a dvd burnner for my desktop but got an 8x external burnner. A good place to find good information is cnet.com

Try this site I found. It only lists Mac-compatible hardware, unlike CNET.
