Is there an easier way than converting M4A's to MP3's for burning MP3 discs

Basically, I use the AAC (m4a) format for my tracks in iTunes. I do also have some mp3's from beatport etc.

I have a pair of CDJ 800's that take mp3 disc.

When I go to make an mp3 disc, I have convert my m4a's to mp3, making a copy of them that I can delete later. Otherwise it will only burn the tracks onto a CD that are already mp3.

Is there a program that will burn an mp3 disc regardless of what files are on the playlist, converting any that are not mp3 to mp3.

I still want to use iTunes for everything else. But maybe there is a program that will detect playlists in iTunes and convert non mp3 files and burn them with one click.

Hope people know what I'm talking about. Hope someone can help.

CDJ 900's & 2000's can play any file off a USB stick or DVD but they were too much cash.

When you click "burn disk" in iTunes you are given the option of "Audio CD", "MP3 CD" or "Data CD"

I know that but any m4as in the playlist don't get converted.

This is a guess, and _only_ a guess, but I believe that you aren't going to find any way to do what you're trying to do, other than take the time to convert each m4a file "manually" into an mp3 file before you try to burn it onto an "mp3 CD".

I reckon there aren't many folks out there trying to do that. And because of that, there probably aren't any software publishers/authors who would go to the trouble to write an automatic m4a-to-mp3 converter into their CD burning software.

From the software authors' perspective, folks need mp3 burning software to burn _mp3's_ and not m4a's.

Just wondering, do you have the latest version of Toast? (I don't) Could such a feature be included in it?

OK if that don't work. I know 100% that "Toast" will make MP3 disks from any random group of audio files.

Not sure about the one click playlist thing you mention, but I know the excellent program "Burn" for OS X, converts whatever files I've dropped into the Audio disc area and burns them with no fuss.

It's well worth checking out, burning Data discs, DVD Video Discs, Audio Discs and Copies of discs.
