I am tuning the USB 3.0 card for Snow Leopard.
I will test on USB 3.0 camera, external storage and io-studio which is the expansion enclosure that I can put multiple PCI-e card and connect to my MacBook Pro.
Mac OS X will not recognize the card, he will either have to make his own supporting kexts or boot into Windows where drivers might be more readily available.
Yes, I am working on the driver for the USB 3.0 card.
The reason I build this is the card is very affordable, the express 34 card will be around $39 dollars range and the PCI-e card will be at 34 dollars range.
The benchmark test I have is around 185 MB/s (prototype using SSD on PC)
My goal is to build a USB 3.0 SSD for HD Video editing.
Any luck with a driver? I need a USB 2 card and with the prices of USB 3 cards, I'd buy a USB 3 card with the hope USB 3 compatibility would come...if USB 2.0 works on the machine. If not this card, is there any card that people know works?
