How to jailbreak 1st gen iPod Touch to 3.0+ firmware?

Hi, I have a 1st gen iPod Touch and right now I have the 2.0 firmware on it.
However.. I know that I can't update it to 3.0+ firmware without purchasing a new one, which I'm not really looking into doing, since there isn't anything wrong with this one.

Anyway, is there any way I could hack my iPod to put the 3.0 firmware update on it?

oh and... I don't want to have any problems with it after I jailbreak it. lol

You could google the 3.0 firmware and download it for free.

But I think that's as much as I can say without getting in trouble.
 
I actually think youtube is the best lol. they give you a tutorial & link. I just did it for my sis' iPod touch.
 
Err.. you can do it legit if you want.

Fiver to upgrade to 3.0 in iTunes. Free to the get to 3.1.2

If you want jailbreak just google blackra1n.

I've got a 1st gen touch running 3.1.2 legit through iTunes so I don't understand your trouble?

for me, my itunes wanted to chare$4.95 for 3.0, wasnt even offering 3.1.2 Im about to jailbreak it now
