It's definitely worth picking up the second it's available. I created a Canadian iTunes account just to try it out and I'm glad I did. I'm having a blast playing it.

Ok, so it's global and here are my first thoughts on it:
-Graphics are excellent!
-UI is also strong, with a good tutorial (reminds me of a mini half-life intro)
-Quick response time (no latency issues like iMech)
-Game play is good, once you get used to the controls (I recommend turning on "proximity auto fire" in the menu
-Very motivating achievement/weapons/advancement system

So far my only issues with the game is that they limit the amount of time you can play/earn achievements, unless you choose to buy additional credits through iTunes (otherwise you will get more, but must wait a few hours). I would prefer an option for a 99cent-1.99 version of the game that had a decreased wait time in-between games. I think this would be more consistent with the App stores 1 time fee vs re-occurring fee models. Not sure how the financial aspect of this game will fly for other games. Anyone have thoughts on this?

EDIT:
-I Found an interesting and disturbing article on Cnet regarding the pricing additional time for the game, it's even worse than I thought (looks like about .99 for 15 minutes!).

I think the game is pretty awesome. Playing a private match with some online friends is a lot of fun and doesn't even matter if you're getting credits or not. The only thing I would like to see is after each private match, the users are taken back to the private room so they can chat. Also the private matches should be able to choose the map they want to play.

Some other things that would be nice are team play, and a shorter time for energy.

The game is a lot of fun to play, and if you've got the will, you can play the game without spending any money and still have a lot of fun. It takes a little more time to upgrade, but there are already so many people playing this game, you will always meet up with others your strength.

Feel free to add me to your Plus+: inblack

Feel free to add me, I'm level 7 and would love to play when not using my energy cells, just for fun. The game is addictive, I played for 2 hrs last night, unreal fun! Love the plasma blaster.

Yea, please feel free to add me as well. My name on there is the same as here (Psycdude).

Overall I am finding the game quite fun, but I do wish there was some in game chat functions (even if they were scripted, like in iMech).
