if i use blacksn0w instead of ultrasn0w for my carrier unlock, will my tmobile carrier logo show in the top left corner of my homescreen?

Only if your baseband is updated to 5.11.xx before you jailbreak.

Blacksn0w or Ultrasn0w has not effect on the carrier logo, only the JB does.
