White iMac core2duo airport not working

Hey, my white iMac's airport is acting up. Sometimes when I start up the computer it is off and won't turn on unless I restart the computer. Is this possibly a hardware issue? I'm running snow leopard 10.6.1
 
I wouldn't be surprised if its snow leapard causing this. I have a white 24 inch iMac (2006) with tiger and don't have any issues. If you can clone your drive and install tiger or leopard, which ever originally came with it and see if your still having problems.
