As per my subject any idea how well this will run using windows 7 on the new 27" i5 also would you be able to run at max res?

i5 isnt shipping yet.
specs are not that intensive
AMD 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz,
256MB Nvidia GeForce 6600GT or ATI's Radeon 1600XT.
XP users will need at least 512MB of RAM
Vista owners must have 1GB of memory
really, a P4? and a 1600XT came on iMacs years and years ago
