Droid "Guided Tour"

This has to be one of the most annoying tutorials I've ever seen. I've never wanted to slam someone in the face with a pie more than I do this tool...

"Plus it can even access Wifi networks, even secure ones."

I loved how he emphasized on "Wifi" and the "Even secure ones" as if it's the 1st phone to do it...

This "Guide" is pretty bad... the only thing I liked about it is the notification bar.

Apple really needs to put something like that in OS 4.0, please Apple please!

No worse than Steve Jobs or the other tools that promote Apple products in person or online.

I just took a look at it today ans YES it's all it's cracked up to be. The Droid without a doubt is gonna make Apple up their game. What MAJOR advancement does the 3Gs have over and the original iPhone? There are a few but the folks at Cupertino are becoming complacent because the iPhone has been the crown jewel of cell phones for 3 years. Something as basic as MMS and copy and paste is the best they can do?..........oh yeah there's a map for that!!!!

I will say that the droid is pretty nice for sure. It didn't seem quite as smooth as the 3GS is, but it's a nice device. The resolution is pretty awesome, that's for sure. Free navigation wouldn't hurt either, not to mention integrated latitude. I'd say it's a worthy alternative, though I'm not a fan of Verizon really.

Uhm, no.

Wow. Just...no.

Did you watch this Droid video? It's ok, you can admit it. You just read the thread and assumed this was a normal promotional video and posted based on that guess, right?

But no, it's really not. You should watch it. I can't believe anyone would say what you said after they've actually seen this.

I went to the website the other day and how can you navigate through that? It gave me a headache just five minutes of looking at it.

I bet it doesn't work very well on the Droid either.

I have to say it was no worse that Apple's typically smug videos. Both make me cringe for their cheesiness.

I couldn't punch that smirk hard enough ...

On another note, the amount of tit-for-tat digs at Apple in the Guided Tour is hilarious.

Come back when you've sold 30 million units.

Everyone has been talking about how this phone compares to the iphone in terms of features, etc. however I see very little commenting about the aesthetics of this phone. I wouldnt care whether this droid could cook me dinner, clean up afterwards and still walk to me to play music while I relax, it's UGLY!

In addition to wanting my phone to do everything I need it to do, I also want it to be slick, sleek, sexy, etc. This droid is square, too thick and looks uncomfortable to even hold. Not to even mention the huge Verizon logo and name at the bottom section that sticks out! It reminds me also of so many other "normal" phones. Thanks for the effort, but I'll stick with my sleek iphone that does everything I need or want it to do with only 5 minutes to jailbreak.

What on earth are you smoking? I have Verizon through work and decided to pick up the "Droid" I have to admit I was pretty excited, until I got it home and started running it through it's paces. I was disgusted, it's garbage. Maybe after a couple of years they will perfect it? Oh and the keyboard is crap too! I will be taking it back Monday for sure

I thought the tutorial was a complete ripoff of apple's for the 3gs. As far as the droid goes it doesn't even play video otb. They should have gotten rid off that protrusion on the bottom of the phone it would look a lot better. It's better than verizon's other phones but that isn't saying much. I actually think the eris look like a better phone.

seems like you do not know much about the iphone. what MAJOR advancement does the 3GS have over the original ? have you USED either device because i have both right next to me and can tell you there is a HUGE HUGE difference.

1. Faster processor (MAJOR UPGRADE) the 3gs is a whole new experience .
2.Compass ( augmented reality apps)
3.MORE RAM (MAJOR UPGRADE)

the iphone has been the crown jewel of phones for a reason NOT for hype

the iphone is SO easy to use and has a great user experience.. i can think of several phones that offered MORE features and cheaper plans ... but guess what they ALL flopped ..Features arnt everything.. its how you implement them..

That was too funny. Very annoying, but funny.

As for the phone, it's quite nice, but Android needs a face transplant.

Exactly. And many Droid users will realize that when they use the 5mp camera function.
