Internet connection help

Hi all,

I am new to macs, my aunt recently gave me her ibook labtop.
I'm sorta getting the hang of some stuff, but I have tried for weeks to connect to the internet, but I can't figure out how to.

The only thing my internet provider gave me was a phone muber, that's all I need for my PC but it doesn't seem to work with the mac?

At my wits end, I'm going on a trip this weekend and would like to take it with me.

If you're using a paid internet connection your ISP must have given more information. Your ISP requires a username to identify your account and a password for security purposes, call you ISP billing or service department for more help.
