copy dvd help

I have a 3g 12"pb ,my first mac and was wondering if it is possible to copy dvd's i already own.
When i install a dvd it starts the dvd player automatic.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can copy your own DVD's, there's plenty of threads on it already, so i wont bother going into it.

As for your automatic playing, if you're trying to stop that or something, go into your System Preferencesm then CD/DVD
