The ethernet port on my iMac DV SE 500, Panther, was just struck by lightning. My cable modem is a Toshiba PCX1100U, and has USB capabilities, but Road Runner does not have any Mac drivers. Anybody know where I can get a Mac USB driver for my modem? Or other possibilities? Is there a firewire cable modem available? Can I repair the ethernet port with out replacing the whole motherboard (the PHY IC)? Anybody got an inexpensive motherboard?

you dont need drivers at all plug it in and set it the prefs to automatic. it will recognize it.

and you can test it with a scanner usb plug if it didnt already come with one.
