It would be really great if someone with a GT120 and a GTX285 could post a result. Thanks!

It says I have to be a premium member to download that.

Update: Oh, it may be the numbers of downloaders that causes that message.

I hate Rapidshare (it wasn't my choice) but you should be able to click the "free user" button and get the download after a short wait.

The test calculates the GFlops your CPU (single/multi-threaded), GPU, and combined CPU/GPU are capable of when running an OpenCL test. Cycle through these tests using the "s" key.

What was the GFLOPS for your GPU test?

The speedometer was fluctuating between about 180-something to a peak of 210.

That's good... it's consistent with my 4870.

That's interesting... I gather the 4890 is about 15% more capable on paper vs. a 4870 but this benchmark gives it a 25% advantage over the 4870.

GTX285
Nice... that's about 3x more than a 4870. I wonder how a GT120 compares?

9600M GT gets about 20-25, and the GT120 is the same GPU, just clocked higher, so I'd guess about 25-30.

I swapped out my ATI 4870 (sold it) for a GT120 and the Nvidia card scores a 45 on this benchmark... very respectable for the cost.

Ok, to summarize, we have the following OpenCL benchmark scores...

Code:
9600M 20-25
GT120 44-45
4870 67-69
4890 83-85
8800GT 150-156
GTX285 210
Incidentally, my Mac Pro Quad 2.93GHz scored around 45 on this same benchmark. I can't wait for software to start exploiting this kind of computational power... a GTX285 would be the equivalent of four high-end quad cores (that's 16 cores... 32 with hyperthreading!!!!) of computing power for workloads that can take advantage of it!

Hmm... The results for this benchmark seem very consistent, with the exception of your GT120... can you please verify your score? That's 20-25% higher than two other GT120's.

Yes I realized this too. I did the test a few times and got the same results everytime.. I am gonna do it again when I am home.

The 285 GTX mostly from 205-210 (sometimes 200+)
and the GT120 always around 56.

Is it purely down to poor drivers that the HD4870 is doing so badly against the 8800GT ?

The 8 cores of the 2008 Mac Pro are more or less as fast as a 4870...
In addition to that, the score in the hybrid mode is even lower than the pure CPU score. It's not supposed to be faster?
I think that in this benchmark as well as in the OpenCL drivers there is quite some room for improvement.
