Power Mac G4 KPs -Help!

Ok folks, I'm up a certain creek without a certain implement.

Last week the display failed on my PowerBook G4 - for the third time. No matter, I have my Power Mac.....

....Or maybe I don't. This week, my Digital Audio G4 started to KP often and seemingly at random. Today the machine has become unusable...it won't even boot every time, it KPs at the login screen. Several times it happened while trying to run a VIDEO_TS folder. A few times it happened using Sherlock. Other times while running Firefox, and still others happened while the machine was idle...I've done all sorts of cleaning and repairing of disks and I'm sure it must be a hardware failure.

I've copied the crash log below. It seems the failure may be related to my SATA controller, which is an SIIG product...can anyone more versed in this confirm it for me?

I've got some deadlines coming up and unless I can get this fixed today I'm going to have to get a new machine - but a new SATA controller is an easy fix if that is the problem...any and all help is warmly appreciated.

Don't know from the log, but if you are "certain" that this is a HW problem, then disconnect EVERYTHING that you don't have to have added to the computer. That includes any internal cards. And memory.After this, start swapping the memory trying if any of the modules are faulty. Move them round in different slots too. (It never hurts to start everything with a PRAM reset either. Sometimes it solves the strangest of problems). See if you can re-produce the KP/error. If you can, you have at lest ruled out the other Hardware. If you cannot, then start adding the stuff back, one item at a time until you get the KP again.

Hope I'm not to late here.

Perhaps you could, as an alternative, hook up your PB to an external display ad use that?

And ofcourse, the first thing you do is to remove the SATA controller to see if that is the problem. It might be that the cards firmware as it is is incompatible. The card might not be faulty, but wrong firmware.
