ok im editing a school project and i need to add a computerized voice and use it to replace the audio from the director. I have the computer voices in mp3 format but when i try and insert .. all i get are beeps .. what do i have to do ? mp3 format wont work right ?? so i need to convert it ?? pls help

The beep means that you have to render the audio via Menu Bar > Sequence > Render.

Or you convert the .mp3 file to an .aiff or .wav file via QT Pro, as .mp3s are compressed and .aiff and .wav files are not.

Btw, you could also take a look at the manual, as my answer came up first via searching for "beep" in the FCP. See page 628.
