Thumbs up Dual booting Win7 and Snow Leopard: Problem

ok, i'm really new to osx and macs in general. i just got the new macbook and i have win7 professional 32bit on a dvd(legal). I have created a partition in bootcamp but every time it tries to boot from the dvd a black screen comes up with a flashing white cursor and thats it. Sounds like the DVD is not bootable; did you make it, copy it, or get it somewhere that required you to burn it to disk? If so, maybe it was made incorrectly. That's what it sounds like to me.
