Hi

1. I have an ibook, and the hard drive has a clicking sounds to it, because
the previous owner dropped it.

2. I took it apart, and took the bad hard drive out.

3. Now i have an PC IDE laptop hard drive , same brand and i inserted it in
and the Ibook does not recognize it, i also popped in a MAC os 10.4
and i get the Folder " question mark on it"

4. Correct me if i a m wrong, but i think i need a P-ATA 2.5 Hard drive, is that
the same as PC laptops have? :)

Any help will do, thanks alot for taking the time to read this message.

Note: I did press the " C" key to boot of the cd, and same problem. I also hed,
the option control "p" and " R" , [still nothing]

Any PC or Mac 2.5" IDE PATA hard drive will work. Just boot off your CD and format it using the Disc Utility that's on your CD. Then you will be able to partition it and install the OS onto it.
