Macbook warranty

I need some help, last time I took my macbook into a registered repair shop due to a faulty magsafe connector, they said to me that it was caused by liquid damage and that my warranty was now expired.

However on the apple support site it says my warranty is still valid, who do I believe?

Contact Apple directly about the expired warranty. Liquid damage isn't covered by warranty though.

Well was it damage from liquid? If they properly reported it with Apple, consider the warranty void.
