Some of you really need to learn how to count to 5.

In no particular order:

Kings of Convenience - Declaration of Dependence
The Middle East - The Recordings of the Middle East
Nurses - Apple's Acres
Lee Fields and The Expressions - My World
Reverie Sound Review - Reverie Sound Review

I'm content with leaving a few bands out (Bibio, Mumford & Sons, Mos Def, J Dilla, etc....). My list wasn't as clear as last year, where Cut Copy, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver were my clear favourites.

I didn't forget. It's intentionally left off my list because I think the album, as a whole, is overrated.

Amen. I like the album, but it's definitely not worthy.

FAIL!

Well, to each their own, of course, but I really do think it's awe-worthy. It just sounds so good. Sure, it's nothing like their previous albums, as it's much less ambitious. But that is exactly what makes it so good. Finally, Animal Collective appeal to a broader audience. Not that I count myself to the 'broader audience' (I'm a snob like that), but I do applaud them (AC, not the audience) for it.

1. The xx - XX
2. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
3. Wild Beasts - Two Dancers
4. **** Buttons - Tarot Sport
5. Fever Ray - Fever Ray
and a close 6th is Bat for Lashes - Two Suns

With an honorable mention to Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion, that, while I didn't like as much as their previous albums, I still recognize that it is great music.

Forget that.

In no particular order:

King Khan & The Shrines - What Is?!
The Middle East - The Recordings of the Middle East
Nurses - Apple's Acres
Lee Fields and The Expressions - My World
Reverie Sound Review - Reverie Sound Review

It's really difficult to say what I regret leaving off the Top 5, but King Khan and The Shrine's album is too good to not make the list.

Eminem - Relapse
Dead By Sunrise - Out Of Ashes
Depeche Mode - Sounds Of The Universe

That's about it, really. There's a few tracks on Timbaland/Shock Value 2 that I always seem to play, but I don't know if I'd list the album as one of the top.

Think there's been more disappointments/over-hyped ( Green Day/21st Century Breakdown ) this year....

A top five doesn't mean much if the list is more than eight times what it's meant to be. Especially when quite a few sub-par albums make said list.

My votes to:

1- Muse / The Resistance ( great album, but not their best so far )
2- The Killers / Live from Royal Albert Hall ( great gig )
3- MGMT / Oracular Spectacular ( not 2009 album, but has his best moments in this year )

2. Appeal to Reason- Rise Against
3. The Last Kiss- Jadakiss
4. Boss of All Bosses- Slim Thug
5. Relapse Refill-Eminem.

Not sure if number five counts since its just some bonus songs left off from number one but I like the Forever remix.
