urent playlist recovery help
ok here is my problem, while relocating a itunes music folder i lost all the playlists on my freinds ibook, he has all the playlists on his ipod but not on his itunes, is there a way to copy the playlists not the acctual files from the ipod to itunes?

Check version tracker. I had the same problem earlier this year when I switched machines. There is a program on VT that will pull the playlists off of your iPod. I warn you, it was VERY slow and not totally reliable. I ended up trashing what it did and recreating by hand. Unless the task is too onerous, you may just want to do it manually using the playlists on the iPod as your guide.

If you choose to do it by hand, I recommend looking into some applescripts for itunes (by Doug Adams). But they are very useful in automatically creating playlists by artist, genre, album, etc...
