No, the Sonata SD is an aftermarket video card that someone apparently added to that machine.

The original Rage128 card had an ADC and a VGA port. The Sonata card has Apple's DB-15 display plug and VGA.

I never heard of someone downgrading videocards - why would anyone wanna? The Sonata SD should be an upgrade.

ohkuipo, if you have 450 MHz Sawtooth, it should have AGP slot for graphic card. Last PCI graphics Mac was Yikes (350 - 400 MHz). Do you have AGP slot or only PCI 66?
ATI Rage AGP is faster than Sonata so it is definitely downgrade. Maybe previous user of this Mac wanted to make it compatible with old monitors with DB-15 connector (that yellow one)?
