has anyone seen walla.com? they are giving free 1gb storage email accounts, and i have no clue how or why. it seems akward. they advertise via google (that's how I found them), but i don't get if it's really a gigabyte or not. otherwise there wouldn't be such a hype about gmail.
 
There are actually quite a few services around now that claim to offer 1, or even 2GB of email space. But, (and it's a big but) they are useless, constantly down, very slow etc, barely usable infact.
