Who has the best cartridge life in BW laser printers?

I've noticed that the recommended monthly output often exceeds cartridge life by quite a lot. I would like to find the value in getting a BW laser that will last between changes.

Color Phaser printer ( such as Xerox) versus color laser printers. Which type has better value via less maintenance in relation to output?

How much are you looking to spend on a printer?

What type of duty cycle 50k, 350k, or 750k are you looking at?

How many pages per cartridge 2k, 10k, 25k, 50k do you need?

But both HP and Xerox will have you spending over 2k for a printer with a 30k cartridge life, and between 350-500k for the fuser assembly for their hefty laser-printer multifunction units.

Their units that are more laser-copier than printer can have even higher toner life, duty cycle, and initial cost. But you'll probably be cranking 50k pages a month through them before you need to worry about replacing the toner cartridges.
