iPod touch iPod touch wear and tear problems??

Hi everyone,
I've noticed on several of my friends' touchs that the sleep/wake button and volume rockers have gone to the point that the buttons(s) have almost entirely receded into the iPod and becomes very difficult to press. Have anyone else had the problem?? I also wanted to know if anyone has ever had problems with the 30-pin connector causing the iPod Jack any damage due to putting the plug in/out of the Jack many times.
 
On my old iPod Touch I noticed after about 6 months the sleep, volume, and home buttons being noticeably sunken in to the body of the device. I credit this to the extensive overuse of my iPod, and it is a common problem.

Does your iPod still work fine?? How ong have you had it now??
