H hayzen macrumors newbie Original poster Jan 14, 2010 #1 Hi all, I have over 1,500 files in my Trash and every time I try to empty it, Snow Leopard crashes. Any suggestions? i.e. different program to empty trash or something? Thanks

BlueRevolution macrumors 603 Jan 14, 2010 #2 Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and copy and paste the following command to the command prompt: sudo rm -rf /.Trash ~/.Trashes Then press return to run it.

I've deleted huge time machine files with no issues. However, I'd go the terminal route, first. Habitus
