Apple Recall

I found this while checking over my investments this morning....thought some of you might be interested:

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) plans to voluntarily recall about 28,000 rechargeable batteries used by its 15-inch PowerBook G4 after receiving reports that four of the batteries had overheated.

The batteries, manufactured by LG Chem Ltd. (051910.SE) of South Korea, contain cells made in the final week of December 2003 and were sold in computers between January and August.

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, which disclosed the recall in a press release Thursday, said so injuries had been reported from the batteries but added they could pose a fire risk.

"Apple have put out a recall on a certain group of Powerbook G4 batteries. If you have a Powerbook G4 15" and your battery's serial number starts HQ404, HQ405, HQ406, HQ407 or HQ408 then you could be at risk of it overheating."

I bought my 15" Powerbook in June and the serial number for the battery was HQ421, so I guess I'm fine.

homer-repost image thanks to edesign

This is the fourth time that this has been posted. It's starting to get ridiculous! I might actually start suggesting that people search prior to posting, though I don't want to be a hard-ass.

First re-post.

Second re-post.

Original thread.

I'm almost starting to get sick of this Homer image.

Well I had the original post so .... I win! I win!

j/k.

Maybe there should be some AI in the posting logic that will search on someones behalf and say "Hey! I found these threads which are kinda like yours...Do you still want to post?" That sure would save some peoples stress levels, including my own.

The Something Awful forums have this, if you go to post a thread with a link in it, it warns you if that link has already been posted, clever stuff!

That is going a little too far. I'd take that down. PRONTO.

Edit: Ok, it's gone. Good. It would be offensive to some.

I assume you saw the image I posted, that was there for about 2 seconds before I actually took the time to read it properly and promptly removed it I'm not out to seriously offend anyone, don't worry, you won't be seeing that one again .
