Hi, I have had this problem since I've bought it and I'm not sure what I can do about it.
The AEBS works very well, but if I want to use mums MBP in her room it's slow, and sometimes when I click the Airport icon in the menu, it flicks really quickly between "Name of our network" and "Searching for a network".
It's really not that far away, probably 15 metres straight down the hallway and a little to the left, my iPod Touch and iPhone also have weak connections down there and often lose connection. It's the 2008 UMBP, uses 802.11g.
The most issue I have is with my warcraft games I play on LAN, my Mac Pro (ethernet) to my mums MBP, I often find the MBP lags badly, sometimes d/cs, and my iPod Touches and iPhones etc... have a really weak connection down there.
Is that normal? I've tried turning on "Interference Robustness", changing the Channel the 802.11g operates on etc.. I'm not sure what else I can do.
The AEBS is behind a big 30" ACD, with another 23" next to it, it's got a wireless phone which I've read can cause problems, it's been turned off lately and the phone moved away and it still happens sometimes.
We're unable to move the AEBS to another location ATM.
Sometimes if my dad gets off his computer and walks away it fixes itself, until he comes back to his computer lol... we've also got a wireless printer, generally a few iPhones and iPod Touches laying around.
Does anyone know if there is something I can do to improve this?
