MCE Superdrive for iBook?

Anyone purchase this $299 upgrade? Should I add this to my 800Mhz G4 iBook or sell the ibook and look for a used 12" Powerbook with Superdrive?

I paid $749 for my iBook (Apple refurb) so I'd be up to $1099 for a 12" iBook with Superdrive. Is it worth it?

It seems pretty pricey to me. Couldn't you get an external dvd burner for less than that? I would do that, or upgrade the whole computer, personally.

Its totaly not worth it. I bought the 1x superdrive for my iBook and it was slow and i didnt use it ever. Just buy a firewire enclosure and get a dvdrw drive for it..

the g4 ibook upgrade is 2x, it may be better if you were up to doing the upgrade yourself to buy a powerbook super drive upgrade and put it in your ibook, it's a little hard to do but you would save a ton of cash.
