QUICK HELP! - Will an AF lenses work on my eos 500d / T1i

edit: I'm pretty sure it does, thought you meant "EF." "AF" are the older lenses right? I think they still work.

No it won't work it's an old FD mount lens.

AF probably refers to Autofocus, then it would be an EF mount lens and would work with your camera. All Canon lenses made since 1987 are auto focus , have EF mount and will work with their digital slr cameras.

Did you buy the lens ?

Did you look at the lens listed? It's clearly not an Autofocus Lens so not EF, the person selling appears to have no idea what it is.

the 500D is compatible with all Canon autofocus lenses. these are designated with an EF or EF-S, e.g. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8.

the older FD and FL mounts are manual focus only and are not compatible.

there was never an AF mount, and in any case I would not buy from a seller who knows nothing about the lens, not even what it's called.

It's not even clear that that's what it is. They look like some odd convertor. Teleconvertor perhaps

I just looked at the lens. The note with it says " NON - AF 35 mm wide angle and telephoto converter"

I believe there are some FD-EOS converter, but you loose auto focus capabilities. Don't know if you loose a stop or two as well, but again, i am unsure.
