Hi guys and girls... I've been trying to search the web for an answer but can't find one. My problem is that my Black Core Duo MacBook destroyed a new battery in 40 cycles and now won't recognise any battery. What has happened? Is it the magsafe board, logic board - I've even tried different power adapters. Any insight will be great.

Cheers,
Jarryd

it's the first generation Core Duo. I don't really use it that much any more because I have a newer one, but it still bothers me why it is this way...

Actually Im pretty sure there are several known issues with early MacBooks failing to recognise their batteries after a while - Google the issue as there are plenty of others with similar, likely related issues 🙂

If it won't recognize any battery, it may be an issue with the Battery Connector or the Logic Board. The battery connector is cheap — $97.50 includes parts and labor at an Apple Store.
