Calendar (ics) file parsing workaround

If you're like me and despise receiving calendar invites as the glorious mime-attachment.ics icon at the bottom of e-mails, I'd invite you to look at this:

This is a work in progress I wrote to keep from having to pull out my laptop everytime I receive meeting request. Please let me know if it works for you / how to improve it.

This works like a champ, my new friend! 🙂

We use Zimbra, and the meeting .ics attachments are totally unreadable to me on my iPhone. This is a day-saver.

I'm with you on wanting Apple to support this correctly, but for now, your generous AppSpot app works.

Hallelujah!

I just found this and it solves the .ics problem that I've had since 2007 when I got the 1G iPhone! thank you thank you thank you! It's crazy that Apple hasn't fixed this after 3 generations of iPhone OS. You, my friend, ROCK!

Finally! A mime-attachment.ics solution.

This works great. I just informed all of the iPhone users at my company about it. They are loving it.

Another solution is to solve that problem from the other side. I mean to send appointments or tasks which can be read on every device or mailclient. I just found a tool for outlook here that generates an extra mail in html to every appointment or task which is sent. For that tool (which is called "appointmentstyler") everybody can create his/her own templates so that they can be nicely personalized.
