Best option for 3D text (for use in FCS)

I'm looking for 3D modelling application that is either free or relatively cheap, and which is a good option for generating 3D text for use in Final Cut Studio projects. So far I've looked at Blender (too complicated) and Cheetah3D (better). Any recommendations?
 
I thought BorisFX actually made a title generator that does 3D text and it runs inside FCS.

...Yeah, just checked. You probably want to check out Graffiti from BorisFX:
