Hello-
I am in the process of changing our server from a standalone server to a PDC. I do, of course, want to test the server with a test computer in my office before connecting all the other computers in the office to it. However, i have ran into a bump in the road. I need to change the DNS setting from xserve.willvision.com to xserve.wv.com. I do not wnat to do it wrong and corrupt the DNS and then have to do a complete reinstall. The reason i need to change the DNS is because i already have a PDC whose domain is willvision.com, and i cannot demote it to a BDC. So any advice would be GREAT!! Thanks so much in advance:D

You would need to issue a terminal command; this is generally how it is done.

changeip -checkhostname (to see what it is set to currently)

changeip old-ip new-ip old-hostname new-hostname
