I want to get into Reason 4, and I need a keyboard. I was hoping not to spend more than about $500, which is what the Axiom Pro 61 goes for.
However, I have some questions. First, as far as I can tell, there's not much difference between the regular 61 and the Pro - basically the "hypercontrol mapping" which is just a piece of software, and there are no real differences otherwise (that I can see), but you're paying $200-$300 more for that, seems a bit steep...
Anyone opine if the pro is worth the $200 premium over the regular 61?
Or perhaps you have a different take altogether, and advocate a different keyboard (say, Novation sl mkii)... keeping in mind, I'd prefer not to shell out more than about $500, unless it's super fabulous.
Oh, and I'm on a new i7 27" iMac, with powered m-audio Bx8a speakers.
Thanks!
