Would a Radeon 9800 pro be overkill for a DP 1.25ghz G4? I've been debating whether or not to get it. I'm just wondering if it is worth spending the $300 on, or would another graphics card work better? I currently have a Radeon 9000 pro, and it gets bogged down pretty quickly in any new game.

If you can get a GeForce Ti4400 from MegaMacs.com for $249 that's a better bet for your system. They're good cards... though not as powerful as a 9800. Personally I love mine, but even at 1.8ghz it doesn't utilize the full potential of the card.

How much of a difference is there between the Mac and PC versions of the 9800 Pro. I just bought two ATI 9800 Pros for my PCs for $150 each. At more than double the cost the Mac version seems insanely expensive. Can I just flash the PC version to work on my Mac?

Thanks for the link osprey76. I had no idea i would have to buy a DVI to ADC adaptor. I'm not sure if it is worth almost $500. That Ti4600 looks pretty nice on Mega Macs. On the Tiger preview page it lists the graphics cards that are supported for Core Image, and the Ti is not on the list. I just want whatever i get to be able to last me a lot longer than my 9000 pro. Tough decision $500 for the 9800, which would last me until i get a new computer, or $280 for the Ti 4600, which I have heard very little about. Well if anyone has any experience with the Ti4600 compared to the 9800 please tell me how they compare!
