Canvas missing in Final Cut Pro

Hopefully someone can help me.
I am a video student (yes, new to final cut)
I just got a g5 z(dual2 ghz powerpc g5 with os 10.5.8) with final cut pro 6.0.6
I transferred all of my video files from my laptop (had older version, final cut 3)

when i open the video files, they are all there, playable in the viewer
but when i double click on the sequence files only the timeline pops up, no canvas
in the window menu it says the canvas is on but I do not see it anywhere
does anyone know why this might be happening?
the viewer, browser, and timeline are all present and functional but the canvas nowhere to be found

thanks
kristen

Bring back the canvas

Try Window in the menu and Arrange -> Standard.

She is unlikely to respond ever, as this thread is her only post, she never logged back in since 2010 and FCP X does not run on PowerPC Macs.

Someone might need it to revive in order to post spam (data recovery and video transcoding threads are a threat for those) or to actually ask a relevant answer (rare, seldom, and so on) or to just post a solution after several years by a one time poster (who just registered for that post and never seems to come back again).

Removal would be bad for the handful of people (probably more, since they do not register) who actually search.

It may be better to have them automatically locked after a year or two or get post approval after a certain period of inactivity.

I see what you are saying. Most people who problems join. Get there answers to problems and then ride off too the sunset.
I'm always amazed how many people cant say "Thank You".
