Parts compatibility between A1107 / A1139

My powerbook (A1107) had a hard life... My LCD was broken (something fall on it and crack it), my keyboard need to be replace, my dvd didn't read half of the cd/dvd I tried and my internal hard drive is not recognize anymore.

I replaced the lcd with a 15,4" that I had, it works but I would like to have a 17" again.

I've replace the dvd with a tray loading, double layer burner! (I may have the only powerbook that supports the mini-cd!)

I know my hard drive is still good because I have tried 2 known good hard drive in my powerbook and none are recognize. They spin but I can't see them in Disk Utility. Now I use a external FW800 (with improved performance...) I hope it's a HDD cable problem...

The keyboard is broken since someone drop a coffee on it (not me!) Most of the key still work but some useful key stopped working (arrows, backspace, eject...)

A friend of mine have parts from a A1139 (high res powerbook) and I was wondering if the LCD, the HDD cable and the keyboard were compatible with my powerbook (A1107).

I heard of people that successfully upgrade from the low res LCD to the high res LCD but I've seen other that couldn't. Also I asked powerbook-medic and they told me that they sell high res LCD as replacement for all the powerbook.

What do you think of that?

As a generality, the low-res, and high-res LCDs are 100% compatible on this particular model- the 17" Powerbook G4. The Hdd cable and the Keyboards, however, are not. The low res screens are 1440 x 900, and the high res is 1680 x 1050. Typically, we only sell the high res models as they work in all the 17" Powerbooks.
