How do you get the dust out of your charger port?

Got a new 3Gs and it has been collecting a lot of dust in the charger port.
Was wondering what you guys use for maintenance.
 
I use a can of compressed air and a safety pin to get the dust out.
The air blows out most of the dust, but I'd a piece if lint gets in there the sharp point of the pin will let you gently pull it out.
 
ive never had a problem with dust getting in my ipod even after +4 years of having it :\

but yea compressed air would fix it.

NOT a good idea! 🙁 Compressed air cans, blow out a minute quantity of liquid propellant which can cause havoc to electronic circuit boards etc. Neither is poking about with a safety pin!!!

However, a good "blast" of air can be useful. This is best achieved with an air blower such as the Giotto, available from photographic stores. These are used to remove dust from lenses and the interior of cameras.
 
I give it a blow, erm, with my mouth. 😉

I mean, seriously, it worked for NES cartridges... how dusty is it where you live? 😱

All this talk of water sensors and jeans pockets breaking phones, I will say that I, with my shoddy practices, have had seven phones since... 1998 or so... and I've never broken any of them. 😛

I usually spray the can first before the actual burst into the dock.
I get more water on it getting splashed by my kids when I give them a bath than would ever shoot out of the can. Don't know why I forget to take it out of my pocket.

But as said above the warning is for special people. 🙂
