I have in the past always used compression on the individual software inst/audio tracks in Logic. My latest track does seem awfully quiet though. If i play it on the stereo system downstairs I have to crank it up but get no distortion.

I thought the best way was to minimize compression used on each channel but keep the channel from clipping with the volume control.

The channels are far from clipping but any slight increase with the volume slider makes them clip straight away.

So overall the track is a bit quiet. So my next thought goes on to boosting the track with the output/master channel.

I have actually turned off quite a few compressors to try and get more volume.

Any tips?

Edit:

I'm just being dense, reducing the compression on the master channel has helped a lot:eek::eek:

Double edit:

things just end up clipping again.

AHHHH
