Far Cry autoresponder

Don't you love automatic responses?

Note that even though I know that there's no Mac version, I'm still taking the 'assume there is one' route, hopefully that will make these game companies see that we expect all games, if that makes sense.

Anyway, the reply:

Please ensure you have completed the following steps.
1) Ensure you have the latest patches for your game

2) Turn down the settings that you are running the game at.

3) Carry out a dxdiag:
Check that you meet the requirements for the game by carrying out a dxdiag as detailed below:

Compare the information on the back of the box with the information in the dxdiag. Pay special attention to the driver dates for your video card and sound card. Log onto the database and attach the dxdiag file.

Damn, and I thought you received a hint that FarCry will be ported when I saw the thread title.

I think the highlight of their reply is the link to region-free DVD firmware

They just followed up:

Quote:
As with most high-end 3D games, there are no planned releases on the Mac format.
I find it interesting that they don't consider UT2004, Doom 3, etc to be high-end.

Doom 3, BF1942, XIII, CoD, UT2K4 are five high-end 3D games I can think of. When I think of games without a Mac version, I think of Battlefield Vietnam, but I can't think of something else. What else is there? (And don't talk about Half Life 2 or Stalker, these aren't even out on PC.)

Although their response is mistaken, you can't blame their attitude. There probably isn't yet a big enough market of Macs fast enough to play this game. I don't know how the iMac's 5200 would cope.

BF1942 was high-end 2 years ago.

After pointing this out to them, they replied with a message implying that Ubisoft don't make those games, therefore they're not high-end
