powerbook g4 boot from external hard drive g5

Is it possible to run ppc g4 powerbook from external hard drive with apps from external hd drive intel imac g5? I have a firewire hd but it is not being recognized by the ppc.

Yes, it should be possible. Also, for best results I think you should also post this on this forum: http://classicmac.freeforums.org/index.php

Its a forum for Pre-Intel Macs only, so it'd be better for ya situation. Good luck!
