How to set up the initial welcome languages animation?

I'm reformatting my MBA for it's soon-to-be new owner, and I would like them to have the same purchase experience I had, which includes getting the animated travel through space with the music and "welcome" in all different languages when they first turn it on.

Is this easy to set up for them?

Install a fresh copy of the OS. When you get to the point of the welcome movie, power the machine off (e.g., press and hold the power button for several seconds). When the machine is powered on, it will go through the welcome process again.

(Well, this worked for me. I assume it will work as well for you.)

This worked for me as well when I sold my black Macbook last year.

It doesn't ask for language when booting a brand new Mac either. It only does that when installing the OS. Note the OP said:

It says nothing about asking for the language.

Also, to the OP. If you want to go a bit further and do a clean install including all current updates to the OS, Safari, iLife, etc. try this how-to. It's a bit involved, but I think it's fun!

Hi Puma.

Could you let us know how this goes? Im hoping to give my mac mini to my parents over Easter and as you say id like them to have the whole experience.

For parents and family this would probably be cool. But I also wanted to share my feelings about it. If I bought a computer from an unknown 3rd party, the first thing I'd do would be to do an erase and install. Especially after reading that Mac OS X Hints link, there are just to many programs that could be installed without my knowledge, and I wouldn't want my data to be compromised right out of the box.

I would also do the 7x write over the drive to zero out everything 100% properly. I don't want someone else's kiddie porn to be on my drive! You just have no clue who used it before you even if it seems like a nice person is selling it to you.

Yeah, that's another benefit. When looking on craigslist, I stay away from people who advertise computers that come with tons of free music or "thousands of dollars worth" of programs, both of which are obviously pirated. I used to ask if the disks were included, but now I just don't even bother.

Hi Puma.

Did your try this? Did it work? Im going home on Wednesday and would love to try this but i need the computer working by Thursday so im reluctant to do this without someone elses experience.
