Does iPad support mic input from Apple headphone/mic combo?

Does the iPod touch support mic input from the headphone jack for the mic/headphone combo?

Trying to figure out if the iPad would or wouldn't.

Thanks

Well, the both the earphones and in-ear headphones with remote and mic are listed on the official accessories page, so it's pretty safe to assume that they are supported.

The newer iPod Touch does support this.

It supports Audio input from the Apple Headphones w/Mic or from the dedicated Mic on Top of the iPad. the iPod touch needs the Headphones.

I thought I had seen as well it had a built-in Mic as well. But I would see why it wouldn't support the Headphone/Mic accessory as well.
