Hi,

Exchanged my yellow i7 27" this morning, got one which is tint free 🙂 But it does have stuck pixel. I've tried some of the methods to un-stick it (the videos of changing colours etc...), but I think given the choice of yellow tinge and stuck pixel i'm taking the pixel (I dont want to exchange it again and risk getting a tinged iMac). Has anyone else had stuck pixels (it's red)? Do they wake up eventually?

Thanks,

I have 2 dead ones and one stuck. Annoyed me for first few days but now I can't even find them! Just get a background that makes it disappear.

did u really end up with more dead/stuck pixels?

i remember like a year ago i sent my 24" back for an exchange and i think u mentioned that you sent it back like 3 times right.. did u give up on getting exchanges?

Hi,
what to you mean by "tint free" ? no tint at all, or very slight tint, or just less tint than the previous iMac ? 🙄
anyway if this is something you don't easily notice, you can fully enjoy your new toy 🙂
I'm still about to pull the trigger for a i7 27", but was waiting for some news like this one before.

No obvious tint that I can see. I had to fight with the Apple store guys to return the first one, they claimed they couldn't see anything wrong...

Yea, I exchanged it twice but then gave up. It took over 2 weeks to get a new replacement everytime so it started to be boring. My first one had only one stuck one but I ended up getting more. It's not that bad really, as I said, I can't even find them anymore! 😀

if it's out of view then i wouldn't bother changing it. my 24" came with one red pixel in the top left corner which i almost never see, so i didn't change it. i tried several unstick methods (except for massaging it), and nothing helped.

Well if it makes you feel any better both of the refurb 27" imacs I received had a speck of dust between the backlight and the lcd panel. Not perfect but livable. I think it would bother me a lot more if it was a bright stuck pixel, then I would definitely do an exchange because my eye would always be drawn to it.

I don't believe there even exists an iMac without this anomaly. They may be so small you can't see them at normal distance, but dust specks are a fact of life with these glass-covered LCDs.

One pixel out of 3.6 million, must have been looking hard to see it 😛. Sounds like a good one though, I would definitely keep it.
