There still needs to come an update for iBooks and stuff, so I assume the answer on your question is 'yes'!

well there are no strings of the ipad in the current itunes so yes

Here's the current requirements for the iPad from Apple :

Mac system requirements
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 9.0 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
iTunes Store account
Internet access
