New 10.6.3 Snow Leopard update fixes iSight dead/stuck pixels!

I just confirmed it myself. I had a myriad of colorful "blobs" all over my iSight. I only noticed them really when I put my hand over the iSight so the image was BLACK.

But, like the patch notes said, this update fixes them! They are ALL GONE 😀

So for people complaining about stuck/dead pixels etc with your iSight, update to 10.6.3!

I'm guessing the update maps them out, somehow. Very cool stuff. 🙂
 
10.6.3 probably had a newer driver for iSight which fixed the issues. Great to hear that one issue in iMacs is fixed but there are still several left

has anyone seen it actually fix the problems? i've seen two updates for the tinge but you know they didn't really work!

If you read my first post, you'd see that I confirmed it. It definitely, definitely fixed it in my case.

You believed what some person told you? I never believe what just one person tells me when it comes to this kind of thing. Just read the patch notes on the web site.

he was executive level! lol. anyway i'm glad to see it's working well and apple is doing the job right!

I hate to be a wet blanket, but the nature of the yellow tint problem can't be fixed with a software patch. flickering, yes. Inconsistent color due to the backlit technology, no.
 
Well, I D/Led and upgraded to 10.6.3 this AM. All seems to be working well so far. I didn't have any problems with the camera or anything else for that matter! 😉

I really like my Imac i7! :apple:

"Very poor backlit technology may I add"

I've had a terrible time with these iMacs backlit's, silvery grey corners. The funny thing is I could live way a bit o tinge but I like watching films and the grey bits would really annoy me.

You're probably then:

a.) sitting too close to the screen so the corners wash out

b.) have the brightness too high

I have no silvery grey corners at reasonable viewing distance, and not at any normal distance with the brightness at half.

i have the brightness full on all my macs other wise they look dull.

i was close but the light has a defined shape on this one the last one it was really bad all over the screen this one the silvery grey it just in the corners to get it on other parts of the screen you need to go to extreme angles and then its outside the viewing angle recommendations. this fault shows that it can do good blacks just not doing it uniformed over the whole screen its been mainly the bottom corners on two the top seems ok im gonna try turning it upside down is there away to flip the desktop 180degrees???😀

lol.

I can't imagine running my iMac 100% brightness. My eyes would burn. You'll get brightened corners/uneven backlight on most display devices with full brightness. My Samsung LN46B750 has a very uneven backlight at full brightness.

yip it is and sometimes i do. If i can (when the gf lets me lol) i use the plasma, but some times i dinny want to watch her rubbish so will go and watch something on the comp. part o the reason i rushed and got the 27" as my 24 was only an ok display not the ultimate one..

thinking back my first one was ok it was the isight that was dodgy thats y they said they would just replace it maybe it be ok now 🙁

anyway im hoping the revision of this iMac will bring me to a happier computing place 🙂 fingers crossed
 
You know, I think some of these monitors are just brighter than others. I can run mine on full brightness and it really isn't too bright at all. I usually keep mine on the third to last bar and can't imagine running it on much less.

Also depends on where your computer is situated. Right by a window you'd probably want full brightness. I have a light-controlled room, and have my iMac set at 6-bars.
