Hey Guys,
A local pawnshop to me has a 2nd Gen, 8gb A1288 that they'd let me have for cost ($25), as the clerk that took it in didn't realize it was passcode protected. I don't know how long they had it sitting back there, but I can't even try to put in a passcode. I thought that after a while, even after multiple attempts, it'd let you try again.

But, it's not giving me any new attempts, and iTunes does not always recognize it. When iTunes does see it, it gives me a warning about having to enter a passcode, but the iPod still doesn't give me the option.

Any ideas would be helpful. I can't get it into restore mode on my windows based machine.
The message on the iPod is "iPod is Disabled. connect to iTunes".

So, I'm still stuck in this loop.

iTunes says no access until I type in the passcode on the iPod.

iPod says 'iPod is disabled connect to iTunes'.

Any ideas?

The iPod is expecting to be connected to the system it has previously synced with. You will have to use forced recovery to bypass it and allow you to restore the iPod; restoring will nuke the passcode from the device.
